EuroFly MiMa Suspends All Business Class Flights Milan to New York
The all business class service from Milan Malpensa MXP to New York JFK which launched in 2006 was suspended in early 2007. The 'MiMa' (Milano Manhattan) service had been operated by Italian scheduled airline Eurofly. |
Eurofly operated a 5 times a week service using an Airbus 319CJ fitted out with just 48 business class seats in a 2-2 configuration, similar to that of Privatair's. Seat pitch came in at 58".
In the last few years we have seen a number of all business airline casualties...
In 2006 we saw OzJet, an all business class service in Australia, go under after being unable to profitably serve flights from Sydney to Melbourne - despite it being one of the most lucrative domestic air routes in the world.
In 2007 Eurofly stopped their Milan - New York Airbus service and Maxjet halted flights between London and the US.
In 2008 EOS Airlines and Silverjet, which operated all business flights out of London to New York and Dubai both went bankrupt.
Eurofly are a scheduled airline who still fly economy and business class from New York to Rome, Naples and Palermo.

Eurofly charged around $2,700 for their Milan - New York flights. You can find business class flights from British Airways, KLM and Northwest for under $3,000.
