flyer program Aeroplan can be a generous reward scheme for Star Alliance
flyers.

Alternatives: American Express Membership Rewards points can be transferred to Aeroplan on a 1:1 basis, minimum transfer 1000 points. In Canada there are 3 cards available: American Express Card (C$55 annual fee), AMEX Gold Rewards Card (C$150 annual fee, waived 1st year) and the high-end AMEX Platinum Card (annual fee C$399, includes various lounge access).
Starwood Preferred Guest AMEX credit card (C$120 annual fee) earns Starpoints which can be transferred 1:1 with Aeroplan - or at the bonus rate of 20k Starpoints to 25k Aeroplan miles.
